2015 PIT count postponed due to snow storm

The overnight unsheltered count originally scheduled for the overnight between 1/28 and 1/29 has been postponed due to the approaching severe weather. Additionally, the safety training scheduled for tomorrow night has been cancelled.

We will be in touch with all volunteers as soon as we have more information about a rescheduled date for the overnight count.

FY2014 CoC Competition Ranking

The CoC Board’s Evaluation Panel met on Friday, October 17 to determine the ranking strategy for the FY 2014 CoC Program competition. The Panel considered HUD’s selection priorities and feedback from the Homeless Services Planning Committee and NOFA Strategy survey when determining the Cambridge CoC’s 2014 strategy.

FY2014 Continuum of Care Competition

Each year, the City of Cambridge Continuum of Care applies for funds available for homeless services from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This annual grant competition brings over $3 million to the City’s continuum of housing and services. Last week HUD released the 2014 portion of the FY2013-14 Continuum of Care (CoC) competition, kicking off a quick timeline for the Cambridge CoC to complete and submit our application by Oct. 30, 2014.

Summer 2014 – HMIS 2.0

Social Solutions (our HMIS vendor) software developers are working on implementing the changes for the October 1, 2014 new HMIS data standards. Prior to that change, HMIS will also undergo a major update related to how we enter data. Using the HUD Assessments and recording Efforts/Case Notes will be considered “legacy” features, and both of those functions will move into the TouchPoint format of data entry.

Draft of Governance Charter available for review

HEARTH Act amendments to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act codified the role and functions of the CoC, formalizing the responsibilities of a CoC and establishing minimum requirements for its operation and management. This governance charter outlines the governance structure of the Cambridge CoC under the new CoC Program Interim Rule; defines the roles and responsibilities of the Board, Committees, Working Groups and staff; and establishes policies and procedures for operating and managing the CoC.
